Driver and passenger are at the heart of modern Chevrolet vehicle design and engineering. In all modern Chevy cars, you’ll find excellent car safety features either as standard or available. Let’s take a look at some of the best of these features, and if you’d like to see more, you can always ask at your local Chevy dealership.

Adaptive Cruise Control

In order to reduce driver stress and fatigue, Adaptive Cruise Control can take over a portion of your driving functions on stretches of the highway. When you pre-select a distance to maintain from the vehicle in front, your car can automatically brake and accelerate as required to maintain that safe distance.

Rear Camera Mirror

The rearview mirror in any car is somewhat limited by the obstruction of the car’s interior behind you. With Chevy’s Rear Camera Mirror, you can press a button and the glass switches from a mirror to a screen showing the view from an exterior camera at the back of your car. This provides a close-up, clear, and unobstructed view of every obstacle behind you.

Intellibeam Auto High Beam Assist

This feature reduces the risk of accidentally blinding another driver with glare from your headlights while driving at night. While active, Intellibeam Auto High Beam Assist detects other cars approaching and switches off your high beams until the other vehicle has passed.

Forward Collision Assist

Many road accidents occur because the vehicle in front stops unexpectedly or something moves suddenly into the road without warning. With Forward Collision Assist, your Chevy can detect potential forward collisions with a high level of accuracy.

You’re then warned of the imminent threat and your reactive braking is enhanced. If you fail to react in time, your car can even activate the emergency brakes for you.

Front Pedestrian Braking

If a pedestrian moves into the road in front of a car, the driver is also put at risk. While attempting to avoid the collision, the driver might swerve and hit another vehicle or a wall.

With Front Pedestrian Braking, your Chevy can detect pedestrians ahead of you and activate the brakes to avoid a collision or reduce the impact. This feature works most accurately in the daytime at speeds of under 50 mph.

Lane Keep Assist

Unintentional drifting toward another lane, perhaps when tired, is another common collision threat. With Lane Keep Assist, your Chevy detects accidental wandering and brings you back into the center of your lane with a brief, gentle turn of the steering wheel. It may also use an alert to warn you of the danger.
