1. Crater Lake National Park

Established in the early 20th century, Crater Lake National Park is one of the oldest national parks in the entire United States and the only one in the state of Oregon. Created around the caldera of Crater Lake, this place offers not only excellent fishing opportunities but also some of the most photogenic landscapes in the region. Covering an area of over 180,000 acres, this place is open 365 days a year.

Crater Lake National Park is located a little over 75 miles northeast of the Medford city center and can be reached in about one hour and a half via route OR-62. Once you make your way to the lake, some of the fish species you will find include rainbow trout and kokanee salmon, both of which were introduced in the late 19th Century and now reproduce naturally.

2. Lost Creek Lake

Created with the construction of Lost Creek Dam in the early 1970s, this place serves both as a popular recreational destination and as an important part of a flood control system.

Attracting anglers from all over the state, Lost Creek Lake is home to several different fish species including rainbow trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, black crappie, brown bullhead, brown trout, and cutthroat trout. Besides fishing, this place is a top-rated destination for boating, hiking, water skiing, wildlife watching, and other recreational activities.
