When you find yourself in the Medford, OR orbit and you’re up for a nice, big burger with all the trimmings, you’ll be in luck with plenty of carefully crafted patties to choose from. The best burgers are usually found in indie spots or a local, small chain with a fan following. Here are a few options with cooks working hard to keep things interesting and delicious at the same time.

1. Jaspers Cafe

This place is known for its gourmet burger offerings, piled high with toppings like avocado, smoked cheeses, bacon, chorizo, egg … you may have a tough time deciding! Try the Moab burger, which includes Cajun BBQ pulled pork and bacon, a berry apple slaw, jalapeno, onions, and cheese — and that’s only one of nearly 20 styles (and they have more than burgers). Veggie options are available, but so are bison, kangaroo, and boar burgers!

2. Burger Spot

People love it all here — the burgers, the portions, and the atmosphere. This place has a hint of the old-fashioned diner-style with its burgers wrapped in red-checkered paper. They go from classic, to bacon and cheese added, to a Western BBQ burger, and up to one with jalapeno and pineapple. Veggie burgers are available too, as are fries, tots, onion rings, and even crispy chicken bites. Top it off with a traditional root beer float.

3. Barney’s Better Burgers

An old-fashioned-feeling indie burger joint is always a nice find. This place has fans, and that makes sense since it has a long list of choices with something to please everyone. Try the chili burger, the Hawaiian, the mushroom Swiss, or the avocado jack. A Barney’s breakfast burger could hit the spot with its bacon, egg, and cheese toppings. They have some chicken burgers, too, like the Malibu with ham, Swiss, and pineapple. And the menu goes on!

4. Heroes American Cafe

Among the sizeable sandwiches and subs selection, the salads, and the entrees that can lean Asian and Mexican, you’ll find a bunch of burgers. You can go classic, or you can go Caveman, layered with BBQ pork, bacon, and cheddar plus toppings and Dijon (pretty classy for a caveman, ahem). Or go for the California burger that includes bacon, guacamole, Swiss cheese, and more. With the Philly burger, the pastrami burger, and then some, you have choices!

5. Crackin’ and Stackin’

People rave about the piles of food here, which start with big breakfasts of eggs (crackin’) and pancakes (stackin’). Burgers? They got ’em, from cheese or bacon or mushroom and Swiss to a Western with bacon, onion straws, and BBQ sauce. Or go for a chili burger or Ortega burger (with an Ortega chili and pepper jack cheese). If that’s not quite enough, no worries: add avocado or egg, plus your choice of 6 sides, to fill up that plate.

With all the generous servings of big, tasty burgers and sides to pick up, you’ll be thankful for the roominess of your certified pre-owned Chevrolet Equinox, if that’s your favorite make. Take a look at all the styles you’ll find at Airport Chevrolet GMC today!
