Chevy Connected Services: Connecting You to the Digital World
OnStar Basics
Every new Chevy has complimentary OnStar Basics access for eight years. It provides a range of invaluable services, including real-time navigation and traffic information, Google Assistant, Google Maps, Alexa Built-in, and Waze. It also includes built-in voice assistance for hands-free access to the infotainment system and your smartphone or smartwatch if they’re paired to your Chevy.
In addition, OnStar Basics provides remote commands so you can access many of your Chevy’s systems from anywhere using the free myChevrolet app and Automatic Crash Response. This feature uses sensors in your Chevy to detect a collision and automatically send the details to the OnStar call center. A live agent will attempt to contact you and will arrange for the dispatch of emergency services to your location.
How to Activate OnStar in Your Chevy Equinox
To activate OnStar in your Chevy:
- Push the blue OnStar button inside your vehicle to connect with a live OnStar Advisor.
- The advisor will walk you through setup and activation in minutes.
- Or, you can activate online through the myChevrolet App or during your vehicle delivery at Airport Chevrolet GMC.

Does My Chevy Have Wi-Fi?
Most new Chevy models come with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot that allows up to five devices to connect at once.
If you’re unsure whether your vehicle has this feature, call us or stop by we can confirm your model’s Wi-Fi capability and help you activate or renew your connection.

If you want to get even more connectivity, OnStar offers three plans for you to choose from. Let’s see what they offer.
OnStar Connect
If you like entertainment, this is the plan for you. Your monthly subscription gives you access to music, news, podcasts, audiobooks, and more. You can also upgrade it to OnStar Connect Plus, which adds a Wi-Fi hotspot that offers up to five connections for you and your passengers.
OnStar Protect
This plan helps protect you, your passengers, and your Chevy from harm. It includes Safety Services, which allows you to summon help in a crisis by pushing the red button in your Chevy. A live agent will immediately contact you and dispatch emergency services to you or someone else wherever you are, and it’s available 24/7/365.
Roadside assistance is included, and skilled technicians will be sent to get you back on the road again ASAP. They can help with changing a flat, lockout assistance, jump-starting, or emergency fuel delivery. If your Chevy is disabled, they will also tow it to the closest Chevy dealership.
OnStar One
This is the premium plan, and includes everything in the two plans above. It’s available at a discount and gives you access to everything OnStar has to offer. All new Chevys have complimentary access to this plan for the first three years, and you can renew your subscription for as long as you like when it expires.
OnStar Free Trial 2025 — What’s Included
Every new Chevy comes with complimentary OnStar One access for the first three years.
Your trial includes:
- Automatic Crash Response and Emergency Services
- Roadside Assistance and Stolen Vehicle Assistance
- In-vehicle apps, Wi-Fi hotspot access, and hands-free connectivity
- Remote commands through the myChevrolet App
Once your trial period ends, you can easily renew or upgrade to another plan.
How Much Is OnStar After the Trial?
After your free trial ends, you can subscribe to any of the OnStar plans based on your needs.
Pricing varies by plan OnStar Protect, Connect, or One depending on which features you want to keep.

How to Connect Your Phone to Chevy Infotainment
Connecting your smartphone is quick and easy:
- Turn on your vehicle and open the Bluetooth menu on your phone.
- Select your Chevy model from the list of available devices.
- Accept the pairing request on both screens.
- For added convenience, you can also connect using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to access apps, calls, messages, and navigation directly on your vehicle’s screen.
