GMC's 2022 Yukon XL series includes four trim levels, including the base SLE and SLT models, the off-road optimized AT4, and the luxury Denali. Finishes include White Frost Tricoat, Summit White, Satin Steel Metallic, Cayenne Red Tintcoat, Onyx Black, Redwood Metallic, Pearl Beige Metallic, and Midnight Blue metallic, while the Denali has the additional option of a Hunter Metallic finish. The Yukon XL's other exterior features include keyless entry, RainSense windshield wipers, available power-retractable assist steps, and a hands-free power liftgate. The AT4 trim is built for the outdoors and includes a front skid plate, recovery hooks, Goodyear all-terrain tires, and 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with gray accents. Engine

Yukon XL SLE and SLT models come with a standard 5.3-liter V-8 gas engine that provides 355 horsepower, 383 pound-feet of torque, and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Drivers can also upgrade to a Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine that offers 277 horsepower and increases torque to 460 pound feet. The AT4 trim is available with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine with 420 horsepower, which also comes standard with the Denali trim.

Performance

The Yukon XL family offers a wide variety of performance features, especially in the AT4 and Denali configurations. The AT4 is available with a four-corner air ride suspension and an active response four-wheel-drive system for driving in rough terrain. Each Yukon XL can also be upgraded with the Prograde Trailering system. This package offers drivers a maximum towing capacity of 8,400 pounds, an enhanced radiator, an in-vehicle trailering app, trailer blind zone alert, and a hitch-view camera. Other available Yukon XL performance features include hill start assist, hill descent control, the traction select system, and magnetic ride control.

Interior

The Yukon XL's roomy interior provides seating for up to nine passengers with expansive head and legroom and offers 42.5 cubic feet of cargo volume. GMC's SLE and SLT trims offer two different interior color schemes, dark walnut and slate, and jet-black, while the AT4 offers a unique black interior with brandy and aluminum accents. The Denali trim offers four exclusive interior color schemes, including teak and light shale, dark walnut and ash gray, brownstone and jet-black, and jet-black, each with perforated leather seats. Additional interior features comprise a full GMC infotainment system, a power-sliding center console, and a luxury audio system. The Yukon XL series is also available with heated and ventilated front seats, rear-seat media touchscreens, a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, and heated second-row seats.

Safety Features

The Yukon XL carries the six-feature GMC Pro Safety package which features Intellibeam automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, lane keep assist, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, and automatic emergency braking. If customers choose, they can upgrade to the GMC Pro Safety Plus package that adds a blind-zone alert, rear parking assistance, and rear cross-traffic warnings.
