Engine

You can choose from two engines with the Sierra 3500 HD. The standard 6.6-liter V-8 engine pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission and generates 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. For a more powerful performance, opt for the available Duramax diesel turbocharged 6.6-liter V-8 engine, which cranks out 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. Both engines are available with rear or all-wheel drive.

Performance

Apart from a best-in-class cargo-bed volume, the Sierra 3500 HD provides convenient features such as the GMC MultiPro tailgate, which has six distinct functions. The primary gate, for instance, features a load stop that prevents items from sliding out of the bed. A load stop is also provided on the inner gate to prevent second-tier items from sliding out. For easy access to the bed, the inner gate can fold down, and it can also be folded into a large step for easy exit and entry. In addition, the inner gate can function as a work surface.

Interior

The cabin of the Sierra 3500 HD offers best-in-class front head and legroom. Depending on the trim you opt for, the interior can range from utilitarian and functional to plush and luxurious. The base trim is equipped with vinyl floor covering, vinyl seat covering, and single-zone climate control. You also receive a 7-inch infotainment system with six speakers, Bluetooth, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The higher trims add incremental levels of luxury with features such as heated and ventilated front seats, perforated leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
