If you want a sturdy and reliable pickup truck that won't weigh you down with any unnecessary bulk, you've got to check out the 2021 GMC Canyon. It's a dynamic midsize truck that combines impressive performance with lots of fun features. When you drive the 2021 Canyon, you'll see that it's the perfect pickup for work and play.
Trim Levels
You'll find three thrilling trim levels in the Canyon lineup, each featuring a design that blends athleticism and elegance. On the Elevation, this distinctive look gets a boost from fixtures such as a bold black grille with body-colored accents. Brand new black wheels with GMC-emblazoned wheel caps complete the package. You can tell that the AT4 is ready to go off-road with its beautifully sculpted fog lamps and substantial Wrangler Duratrac tires measuring 31 inches. The available Off-Road Performance Package adds even more rugged features, including a rocker panel shield, skid plates, and a blacked-out performance exhaust tip. Last but not least is the Denali, which comes with signature C-shaped lights, stunning chrome accents, and diamond-cut wheels measuring 20 inches. The selection of exquisite exterior paint colors includes Cayenne Red, Desert Sand, and Satin Steel.
Engine
The Canyon's impressive performance comes courtesy of its powerful engine lineup. The standard engine is GMC's 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. With this impressive output, the Canyon can tow 3,500 pounds. For even more power and greater towing capacity, you can upgrade to the available 3.6-liter V-6, which is capable of putting out 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. With the V-6 under its hood, the Canyon can tow 7,000 pounds. If you enjoy a diesel-powered ride, go with the 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel. It puts out 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, giving the Canyon a 7,700-pound towing capacity.
Performance
No matter which engine you equip your Canyon with, you can count on enjoying a smooth and swift driving experience every time you take the wheel. A six-speed automatic transmission teams up with the turbo-diesel and four-cylinder engines. If you go with the V-6 engine, you can take advantage of an eight-speed automatic. The four-wheel drive gives you maximum control when you go off-road or have to drive on wet streets.
Interior
The GMC Canyon's five-seater cabin gives your crew plenty of room to relax and enjoy the ride. With the Elevation, you can stick with the standard cloth seating surfaces or upgrade to leather upholstery. Both come in sleek and sophisticated Jet Black. Add the available heated seats and heated steering wheel, and you'll no longer dread those chilly morning commutes. Inside the AT4, you'll find premium leather seating surfaces with AT4 stitching. They pair perfectly with trim-exclusive Kalahari accents. As the top trim level in the Canyon lineup, the Denali gets quilted leather seating surfaces and genuine wood accents. Heated and ventilated seats come standard. No matter what trim level you choose, you can use the GMC Infotainment System to stream music, get traffic updates, and send hands-free texts.
Safety Features
On top of its impressive performance and fun features, the Canyon gives you the latest in safety technology. A forward-collision alert gives you braking assistance when it detects a potential collision. You'll also enjoy teen driver technology, trailer control, and tire-pressure monitoring.
