2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD
The Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD pickup is a massive truck designed for the biggest jobs. It's available in a wide range of trims that offer everything from the just the basics to the ultimate in luxury. The Silverado 3500 HD carries over to the 2023 model year without any significant changes, but there should be some updates for the 2024 model. Here's a look at what you can get with the 2023 Silverado 3500.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level WT trim comes with 18-inch steel wheels, trailering mirrors, a locking tailgate, black bumpers, and all-terrain tires. A step up to the LT adds 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome bumpers, power-adjustable and heated side mirrors, and Chevy's EZ Lift tailgate with a power lock and release. Another bump to the LTZ adds LED headlights, taillights, and fog lights, extra chrome exterior trim, and power-folding and extending exterior mirrors. The upscale High Country adds 20-inch polished wheels, body-colored bumpers, a spray-in bedliner, and LED cargo bed lighting,
Engine (Power)
The standard engine for the Silverado 3500 is a 6.6-liter V-8 gas engine with 401 horsepower. It works with a six-speed automatic transmission. A 6.6-liter diesel V-8 engine is available and will get you 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. This engine uses a 10-speed automatic transmission. Both engines come with rear-wheel drive and offer four-wheel drive, and you can also choose either a single or dual rear-wheel axle.
Performance
There's no shortage of power for the Silverado 3500 with either of the engines. If you want to max out towing power, the diesel can tow up to 36,000 pounds, but with the gas engine, you can still pull up to 17,400 pounds. The strongest configuration comes with the regular cab and the dual-rear-wheel axle, which can carry up to 7,442 pounds in the bed. The ride in the Silverado stays comfortable whether you're carrying a load or not.
Interior
There's room for up to six in the larger Silverado 3500 HD cabs. The WT has a tilt steering wheel, vinyl floors, and vinyl upholstery. The LT upgrades to cloth upholstery and adds storage under the front seat. You'll get leather upholstery in the LTZ, along with power-adjustable and heated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. Technology features include an 8-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system in the LTZ and above, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, navigation, and a Bose stereo in the High Country.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500 comes with several advanced driver aids. These include a rear seat reminder, a backup camera with hitch guidance, and a safe teen driver monitoring system. The High Country adds several other systems, including front and rear parking sensors, a blind-spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system. You'll also get a bed-view camera with the High Country. A trailering camera system is available as an option, and you can also get forward collision warning with automatic braking and lane-departure warning.
