2023 Chevrolet Camaro
The Chevrolet Camaro is the ultimate muscle car. Its strong engine lineup and loud exhaust make it fun to drive, and what's even better is it performs on back winding roads almost as well as it does when heading straight. For the 2023 model year, the Camaro carries over without any significant updates other than some new paint choices and new wheel designs. Here's a look at some of the details.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Camaro 1LS comes with 18-inch wheels, keyless entry, and power-adjustable side exterior mirrors. Stepping up to the 1LT gets you access to more options, while the 2LT adds a few updates in the cabin, and then the 3LT adds heated and auto-dimming side mirrors. The LT1 comes with 20-inch wheels, an external engine cooler, and Brembo brakes up front. Choose the 1SS to add a rear spoiler or the 2SS for the upscale 3LT features. The ZL1 has 20-inch Dark Graphite wheels, a ZL1 rear spoiler, and a performance exhaust.
Engine (Power)
The entry-level powertrain is a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder that puts out 275 horsepower and works with a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic. A 3.6-liter V-6 with 335 horsepower is optional for the 1LT, and the LT1 gets a 6.2-liter V-8 with 455 horsepower. Under the hood of the top-level ZL1, you'll find a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 that churns out 650 horsepower.
Performance
All of the Camaro's engines provide this muscle car with plenty of power. But upgrading to the V-6 or one of the V-8s turns the Camaro into a heart-pumping performance car. The six-speed manual adds to the fun behind the wheel, but if you prefer an automatic, the 10-speed is smooth and efficient. The turbo four-cylinder engine can propel the Camaro to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds, but you can get there in 5.2 seconds with the V-6 and 4.2 seconds with the 6.2 liter V-8. What's even more impressive is the zero to 60 mph time of 3.7 seconds with the supercharged V-8.
Interior
There's room for five in the Camaro. It comes standard at the base trim level with a power-adjustable driver's seat, cloth upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The 1LT adds a power-adjustable passenger seat, and you'll get heated and ventilated front seats in the 2LT. You'll get a heated steering wheel and driver's seat memory settings in the 3LT, while the ZL1 has Recaro front bucket seats. Technology in the Camaro starts with a 7-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 6-speaker stereo. Satellite radio, an 8-inch touchscreen, a 9-speaker Bose stereo, and wireless charging are available as you move up the Camaro lineup.
Safety Features
The 2023 Camaro comes standard with a rearview camera, stability and traction control, and GM's Teen Driver system. Stepping up to the 3LT will get you some advanced driver aids. This trim has forward collision warning, a blind-spot monitor, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, and a lane-departure warning system with side blind zone alert. It also has a head-up display.
